Ouray County Veterinary Services PC is a stationary and mobile veterinary service caring for large animals in the Ouray County area. We have been in business since 1998 and are committed to bringing the highest quality of veterinary care to our area.

Hours and Directions
Routine and Urgent care Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:00pm. Emergency calls 9:00am-9:00pm daily. Call for availability.

What we do
We offer full services, including but not limited to; vaccination, castration, surgery, diagnostics, herd health, and reproductive services. We can perform radiographs, ultrasound, endoscopy, and most blood work in the field. We work on dogs, cats, pocket pets, cattle, horses, sheep goats and all camelids. We offer top notch diagnostics and professional and humane restraint when needed. Because your animal is important to us, if we cannot help you, we will find the veterinarian who can. That is our pledge to you.

Doc Joe
Dr. Joe Alaimo AS, BS, DVM is a native of Brooklyn, NY. He is a graduate of Cornell University, a recipient of the Army Achievement Medal , and can cook up a mean pasta sauce. He has served with the Army National Guard ( NY,91A, Airborne, 1/108th, 11th Group, MASH, Hon Discharge). Before coming to Ouray County, he worked for the Navajo Indians in Window Rock Arizona. Dr. Joe likes to work with all animals and especially camelids. His favorite hobby is motorcycle riding. He owns a 1998 Kawasaki KLR 650. Dr.Joe decided to practice in Ridgway after a search for practice locations that spanned three states in the southwest. Dr. Joe has been the 4-H Vet Science leader, swine club leader, sheep club leader and Trustee for the Elks club 492 (Ouray). Dr. Joe is an amature Programmer and writer.
